What exactly is my hair type? The 12 hair types explained...

Did you know, there are up to 12 different hair types? Each one calls for specific bristle strength to care for your hair in the best way possible, minimising damage, gently removing knots, reducing breakage and protecting from long term damage.

Most hairbrush brands offer a couple of different options, usually fine & fragile, or thick & curly hair.  But what about everything in between? Step in The ONE Brush - with 7 different bristle strength settings, from ultra soft to 4 x firmer, you can customise the ONE Brush to your specific hair type and condition… but what exactly is your hair type?

Hair type is defined by your hair pattern which is the natural shape of your hair strands, and hair texture is the thickness.  To identify your natural hair type, let it air dry with no product.

The 4 Main Hair Types -

Type 1 -  Straight hair lays flat with little to no pattern. Looks great in a sleek bob cut.

Type 2 - Wavy hair has some texture and gentle curves, often versatile to style.

Type 3 - Curly hair, spiral curls and ringlets, are naturally defined and more prone to tangles and breakage.  Has more volume, but can also be prone to frizz and dry hair.

Type 4 - Coily hair - Tighter wound curls - defined, maintains shape whether wet or dry.  Can be more coarse in texture and more fragile, prone to damage and breakage.  Can also be dry, which can lead to an itchy scalp.

Textures -

Type A Fine & Fragile hair - looks and feels delicate, difficult to hold a curl.

Type B - Medium thick hair - Easier to style and will hold a curl for longer.

Type C - Coarse hair - Can be more difficult to style, and susceptible to frizz.

All 4 hair types can be any of the 3 textures (A,B or C) giving 12 different hair types.

The ONE Brush can be customised to your hair type, texture and condition. Designed to reduce breakage, for gentle detangling, it protects vulnerable hair, styles and smooths dry hair and supports scalp care.

Your hair is unique. Now you can customise your hair brush to be unique as your hair.
